If you do, I'd love to know why. 95% of non hispanic americans have absolutely no idea that:

a. the gold cup was in the US,
b. that the US was involved,
c. that the US won, or
d. what the gold cup even is.

If you actually watched the final you may have noticed that all the ads in the stadium were in spanish. So who do you think funded this buy off for the pleasure of 5% of the non-hispanic population and why do you think they bothered?

Thanks Anti-Milan sore losers for whining about Milan's fantastic victory, but this question is actually directed to anti-US sore losers. Fahd, you only answered part of the question: again in a country where hardly anyone cares about soccer who bought it and why did they even bother?

Rafael, My other question is for people who claim the US paid for the championship, I want to know who they think paid and why. It was totally logical to have ads in spanish, I was watching the match on Univision and I'm sure most people watching it in the US were on univision as well.

I don't and I am a Mexico fan. Well I didn't really get your other question but the reason for spanish ads is the $$$$$$. We all know that with out us hispanics the MLS would not be growing. I don't think the US federation is responsible for this but the CONCACAF. They do this on purpose because they know that by attracting the hispanics they get more out of them than normal Americans, but its not necessarily a bad thing because thats the foundation of where the MLS is growing in. I mean seriously all the MLS teams are built in cities with high number of hispanics. I mean the only city with not a high number of hispanics and a higher number of whites that gets a good attendance in soccer games is Boston. This might be the reason the US is always unstoppable when they play there..

I think that there was some understanding agreed to beforehand between the USA officials and the refs, which required the refs to make calls in the USA’s team favor, if they found themselves in a spot of bother. I have no definite proof to back up my allegation, but by watching the last 3 games, my suspicions appears to be well founded.

But then again, years from now the USA team will be remembered for winning & not how they won the 2007 Copa Oro – so congrats to them

Would you, like some cheese with your wine? Step up and be a man!!!!!!! Stop behaving like Lucy from Charlie Brown and deal with the fact the better team won. I'm not going to make any excuses for the USA losing to Mexico in baseball.

I like nothing better for Mexico to face the USA in the COPA America then we can once agian compete on neutral ground. Besides if I was a supporter of Mexico I would be more concerned abou the future of this squad under Hugo Sanchez and will you be prepared for the 2010 World Cup.

I think that USA bought the Gold Cup because of the fact that if you watch the Gold Cup and you know soccer, you know that US faced easy teams El Salvador, Guatemala, Panama without their two best players, (got red cards against Mexico match) and Canada. The penalty shot they got during the final was not. Everyone knows that wasn't a penalty. And if it was, Mexico should have also got one because Omar Bravo got hit worse and he didn't get a penalty shot.

No, the Gold Cup was not bought by the US. And where are you pulling your weat stats about 95% of your trivia?

If you know anything about the US -Mexico rivalry it should be that the US has been beating Mexico for the last few matches they have played. Twice so far this year.

I don't think any Italian fan should be talking about buying trophies.
