I'm getting mixed messages on this.
Only reason I ask, is because we are waiting until the START of the 2nd trimester to tell "our news" and I want to know which week that is!!!! Thanks!

Your first trimester ends on week thirteen and your second trimester starts on week fourteen. So, I would say 14. I hope that helps, all this counting weeks and what not is so confusing.

Divided evenly, each trimester is 13 weeks long, so I guess weeks 1-13 are the first trimester and weeks 14-27 are the second, and weeks 28-40 are the third. However, your chance of miscarriage drops drastically (by about 90%) after the 12th week is over (when you start your 13th week) so that's why a lot of people tell their big news at that time!

13 is the last week of the first trimester. 14 is the start of the 2nd trimester.

13 weeks. Every end of 3 months is a new trimester.

According to What to Expect When You Are Expecting the last week of your 1st trimester is week 13. So week 14 would be your 1st week of the 2nd trimester.

according to my doctor the start of your 2nd trimester is week 14 but like one of the other readers said after 12 wks the chance of miscarriage drops drastically so it would probably be ok to spill your great news!!! congrats
