It would be the honest thing to do. You made the mistake, then you should own up and be a man about it.

The trouble today with the world, is that people have integridity. They don't admit a mistake, but they try and hide it. The world would be a better place if we all admitted our mistakes and tried to correct them. good luck.

If it was a strangers car, then personally, no I wouldn't as my car had been damaged on numerous occasions by people who don't own up. But if it's your Dad's car (or anyone that you know) then yes, own up and take it like an adult.

yeah tell him... last fall i broke the rearview mirrior of my dads car and he was not that ticked off because i owned up to it, but imagine what will happen if you dont tell him, and he gets really mad, and then finds out? When you find yourself in a hole stop digging. tell your dad

Yeah, If it was my lad as long as he owned up he'd get away with it. If I found out for myself though, especially if I'd already hoofed one of the neighbours for it, then they'd be murder

He might get mad and try to kill you if you tell. HOWEVER, you will have gained a lot of points in his eyes for honesty. It's a sure sign of maturity.

tell him the truth. at first he will be mad but later he will respect your honesty and integrity. if you dont tell him it will eat at your very soul.if it doesnt then you will know what kind of person you really are.

What if it was YOUR car that was scratched? Wouldn't you want to know who did it? Come clean and fess up to it.
