Can you get more freon (may be spelled wrong) put into a deep freezer chest? If so where do you get it and how much does it cost? Can you buy it and do it yourself or do you have to have it professionally done?

You need to have a professional do that. They are licensed for such things.
Yes,you can have the freon replaced but sometimes it's more economical to buy a new freezer by the time you pay for it and a repairman.Their rates are usually pretty high just to walk in your door and check the freezer out without doing any fixing.

Attach a garden hose to the clean out hole located on the lower front of the freezer . Drain all the stinky water from freezer. With a solution of hot soapy bleach water wash entire interior surface of freezer. Rinse several times . you can also put a new opened box of baking soda in freezer to help absorb odor after cleaning. Remember to put plug back in the drain when finished,..

"A refrigerant leak can cause a freezer to fail to get cold enough; however, leaks are very uncommon. Also, unlike some automobile air conditioners, it is never necessary to "top off" the refrigerant. The refrigeration system is a closed system and the addition of refrigerant is rarely called for."

A leak is the only reason to have refrigerant checked or added. This needs to be done by a licenced tech. Call an appliance repair store to have it checked out.
