Whats wrong with my pleco?

Question

My pleco has been fine with all my other fish ( 2 electric yellows a red tailed shark 5 tiger barbs and a gold grourimi ) i look in the tank this moring and its top fin has some kind of HOLE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT whats wrong im thinking its parisites or something i have aqaruim salt and a good filter is there any more i need ( is a 20 gallon tank ) ( upgrading to a 55 sometime )

I do a 25% water change every week and i do a gravel vack every 2 weeks

the only reason i dont have my 55gallon yet my parents ownt let me get it for a few more months but i am getting it

A hole in the fin is a sign of fin rot. It can start on the edges of the fin, which it does most of the time, but sometimes starts in the middle of the fin tissue and causes a hole like you are seeing.

Fin rot is of course a bacterial infection and needs to be treated with an antibiotic. I would suggest Maracyn for fin rot, but any good antibiotic will take care of it if you treat very soon. Once it progresses very far, it can become difficult to treat.

Its whats called FIN ROT, And everytime i see your questions you seem to be upgrading to a 55 gallon, Maybe you know thats the size of tank they need, Your just not bothering, The reason your pleco got fin rot in the first place is because the tank is not been looked after properly.

Your pleco has fin rot, i would remove him from you tank, and get a new one, i would risk spreading it to other fish.

well pleco dont have any scale soo you cant have any medicine in your tank or he will die, soo i would recomend buy ing anothe pleco byu some other algies eater
