I was wandering if i buy a 1gb memory for my system, it would work or not and if yes does it have any requirement?

Yes, provided the following are true:
. Both are compatible with your computer
. Your computer BIOS will accept 1.5Gb of RAM

They will run at the slowest of the speeds of each stick and your mobo... so a whizzy fast RAM and a slow RAM stick will both run at slow RAM speed. You might be better off if you have a fast 1Gb stick and a slow 512Mb one not to use the 512... depends if your mobo can take advantage of the faster memory.

See manual for your mobo for a definitive answer.

yeah it will but just make sure the 1 gb is similar to the 512 mb card

Yes, as long as they are the same speed. You will have 1.5GB.
