Go to some store that sells computer stuff and buy windows XP, Then make sure your hardware in your computer meets the requirements for XP. Then you can either install it yourself or pay a professional computer tech to do it. (To install XP the tech should only charge around $50usd, to intall an OS.)

go to microsoft web site and check if your computer is ready for upgrade.

you need Windows XP Cd upgrade version. There is difference between upgrade version and clean installation. in upgrade version all of your setting will remain the same. and of course you MUST beck up your HD. before start any installation.

Good luck

Unfortunately, there is no such an upgrade available. You would have to buy a Windows XP CD.

And that, only if your computer supports it. The system requirements for Windows XP are here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314865

you may not want to do that
just buy a new computer with windows xp
because your graphic card and ram/cpu are too low to upgrade to windows xp from a windows 98

You can't do it. A 98 machine can't run XP - you have to go to a whole new processor, and that means a new machine. A Windows 98 machine has a 16-bit processor, while running XP requires a 32-bit processor.
