I wish to make three statements which I believe to be fairly representative for most of us: 1. I believe everyone carries some emotional baggage with him or her. The smart ones are those who are aware early enough to do some damage control and develop more effective habits. 2. I also believe that life is not fair. We all have different amounts of good luck and bad luck - inheritance good looks, tallness, smartness, lucky breaks, poor background, ugliness, shortness, last in class, and accident-prone. 3. We learn or change at different rates. (This may be absorbed into statement 2. But that would make it too long) The lucky one somehow learn to pick up useful tips and advice and achieve amazing results by the time they reach 45. They are others who got stuck with whatever difficulties they were having, sinking deeper and deeper into a miserable ending in old age filled with broken relationships, poor health, no money and no friends. The key attitude that will give ourselves a second chance is the will to reform ourselves. One book which I highly recommend is The Road Less Traveled, by Scott Peck. He said that life is difficult. The best way to live is to face our problems squarely using four tools of self-discipline: 1. The delaying of gratification 2. Acceptance of responsibility 3. Dedication to truth 4. Balancing Another productive book is The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, by Stephen Covey. He explains in full details how developing these 7 habits would give us the power to achieve excellent results in our career and relationship: 1. Be proactive 2. Begin with the end in mind 3. Put first things first 4. Think win/win 5. Seek first to understand...then to be understood 6. Synergize 7. Sharpen the saw So we should not dwell in past hurts but move forward using great advice from great books and great people. It is a waste of time to learn by trial and error, trying to reinvent the wheel. Embrace great ideas from great books and great people. Repeat these things until we internalize all these good stuff!!!

Everyone does pretty much...
For the most part, I am good at leaving my baggage at the door.

depends on what you consider baggage...if you mean a child then yes, if you mean drama then no.
