Sex sex and more sex. I've had a few pregnant friends who were very 'due' and uncomfortable. Interesting, their doctors said that orgasming would help induce labor.

Happy inducing!

Unfortunatly its not a spoonful of castor oil its like the whole bottle with oj or something so gross my mid wife encouraged us to have sex!!! I like that idea better don't do the castor oil although you can tell DH that a cup of rasberry ice tea and a foot massage will help and I bet he'll be more than willing to help you relax while you wait. Just think of how relaxed you'll be after he gets you the tea rubs your tired probably swollen feet and then had sex!!!! Good Luck God Bless and Congrats on the baby!!

sex is the best one and was recommended by my midwife with my last baby i never found anything that really worked when the times right your baby will come
raspberry tea i have heard is meant to work i had a friend that went into labor 4 weeks early and she says its because she was drinking alot of raspberry tea
best thing to do is to keep active as much as possible just don't try the Castor oil its meant to be very dangerous
good luck

Nope, none of them work, except having sex (there is an element in semen that softens the cervix). But if they make you feel more comfortable through the last few days of waiting, they won't hurt, either.

Whatever you do, don't drink castor oil. It makes you cramp & poop, but it also makes the baby poop, too. If the baby poops in the womb, the baby could inhale or swallow meconium, which will cause the baby to go into distress. And yeah, you'll go into labor, but that's not the way you want to do it.

I dont know any old wives tales BUT a friend of mine was really close so her doctor told her to walk, walk and walk some more. It worked cause she went into labor the next day.

Having sex late in pregnancy won't trigger labor. I know you're eager to see your baby's face, and your probably feeling uncomfortable, but no amount of sex is going to make things speed along. A new study from Ohio State University College or Medicine found out the women who were sexually active during thier pregnancies didn't have thier babies any sooner than those who abstained. Semen contains low levels of prostaglandins, the hormones that induce labor, but the small amount exchanged during intercourse doesn't appear to initiate labor in anyway.

haha instead of lecturing you, i will answer your question.

WHETHER PEOPLE LIKE IT OR NOT, i drank a lot of raspberry tea, had sex, and nipple stimulation. (not all at once but that would be interesting..) it worked with my first son, but whether it was related or not the labor lasted the whole weekend, im talking contractions five minutes apart for three days. with my second son it didnt work AT ALL, and my labor was a couple hours with 2 pushes and i went home 6 hours later.

good luck!

What seemed to work best for me was lots of sex, walking and activity. I was soooo ready to get my baby out just like you. But my second baby came 4 weeks early after a full day of walking, cleaning, and finally sex that night. (he was fine, though). So don't rush it too much! Trust me, she'll be 18 before you know it! Good luck with everything dear!

dont rush your baby let the baby be born when it is ready if you get overdue and you want some options so you dont have to do pitocin and the usual associated c section then repost and I will give you detailed instructions.

relax and enjoy the pregnancy
