....is it really bad,to a certain extent,anywhere you go?

There are problems everywhere - it doesn't matter if your 'rich' or live in a 'better' neighborhood; cr@p still happens. ☺

No. I live in a great area. I live in a small town (pop 6500) and, although there is crime, it isn't an everyday occurrence. You can walk around any time of day or night and not worry about being mugged or attacked. In fact, in my town, you would not see much traffic after 10 pm. There is no gangs or high crime areas. I would not want to live anywhere else. Now most people live in larger cities and don't have the freedoms they have in smaller towns. But I think it answers the question that it's not the same no matter where you go.

I think its bad anyplace too and it has nothing to do with what your first answer said.thats horrible to me.I think you should always check out the crime rates before you purchase a home.
