Don't people see how foolish they look and are when they identify people as red-staters and blue-staters ?
How utterly ridiculous .
Ironically a Rock Band , Pink Floyd , Was Trying To Show How Foolish It Is To Be Prejudice , And Yet , Some People Just Don't Get It !!

(excerpt from the song continued from titled post)... That one looks Jewish , and that one's a coon . Who let all this riff-raff in-to the room .
There's one smoking a joint. . . and another one with spots. . .. . . . . . . . . If I had my way . . . I'd have all of them ----- .
I can't post the last word because somebody would mistake it as my words and not the words of the song . But they were intentionally being prejudice to show the idiocy of prejudice .

Do you agree that the whole red and blue stater thing has got to go ? And if you do , then would you please remind/chastise anyone who does it ?

i was almost attacked by a lady in an elevator at the beau rivage, biloxi, because i didnt look right. she glared at me and said, youre not from around here are you? she accused me of being born on the wrong side of the mason dixon line!!!
old habits die hard, let me tell ya! a little too much fire water i suppose. haha, but she was correct, i wasnt from around there.

same thing with the red state blue state mess. i consider myself in a purple state. the edges are red, the interior is blue. so, purple!

I think it is pretty ridiculous to label people as Red Staters and Blue Staters. It seems to imply that all the citizens of a particular state think alike. By the way, I love Pink Floyd, though I think that "Pigs" is my favorite song.

Labels are created to brand or "define" something/someone.
Labels are often used simply as a convince
Labels are also used to evoke a perception of "x".
The Red/Blue state labels were created for all of the above.
...I think that red/blue state labels should be abolished simply because they are political creation that:
-infers that residents of a state are a homogeneous group with a homogeneous political ideology.
-insults the intelligence of the population in general-as each voter has the ability to chose who/what they approve/disapprove of.
-is used to create false data and tries to persuade some people using standard con tactics. (if everyone else agrees, believes,is awed by xx.. what's wrong with you?-R u 2 dumb to get "it", don't you care for the poor, kids, sick that can be "helped"?..many perceive that to be with the "majority" is the best way to be accepted as smart/or a way to be accepted)
...Labels have their place but political labeling should be abolished. Each individual is unique; it's absurd to assume that a state has a political "mind set".

Not red or blue for this gal! I am red white and blue!!! American made and American all the way!!!

American girls and american guys
Well always stand up and salute
Well always recognize
When we see old glory flying
Theres a lot of men dead
So we can sleep in peace at night
When we lay down our head

My daddy served in the army
Where he lost his right eye
But he flew a flag out in our yard
Until the day that he died
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy
In the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love
Has fallen under attack
A mighty sucker punch came flyin in
From somewhere in the back
Soon as we could see clearly
Through our big black eye
Man, we lit up your world
Like the 4th of july

Hey uncle sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the statue of liberty
Started shakin her fist
And the eagle will fly
Man, its gonna be hell
When you hear mother freedom
Start ringin her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you courtesy of the red white and blue

Justice will be served
And the battle will rage
This big dog will fight
When you rattle his cage
And youll be sorry that you messed with
The u.s. of a.
cause well put a boot in your ***
Its the american way

Hey uncle sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the statue of liberty
Started shakin her fist
And the eagle will fly
Man, its gonna be hell
When you hear mother freedom
Start ringin her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you courtesy of the red white and blue

The Red State Blue State division is silly. The real divide in this country is between urban and rural. If you look closely at those maps you'll see what I mean.

I don't like ANY form of categorization. Each person is unique, just because they're of a certain political belief, religious belief, color, etc... that doesn't define them as a person. There are so many more aspects to life than just ONE categorization. We're doing ourselves and our country a serious injustice once we start labeling people.
My BIGGEST pet peeve on the news is group politics - we're so willing to label people and push agenda for small groups of people, it just makes me sick.

Higher density population centers tend to vote democratic, rural areas tend to vote Republican, throughout the land. Even states that vote Republican now, for the most part, their density areas go democratic. But yes, prejudice is unamerican and against the framers intentions, without question.

Oh....I believe ALL LABELS must go.

When I was growing up....my parents always voted, in every election. But they never told anyone...not even their children (and there were 4 of us) who they voted for or why they voted for them. They believe that your vote is your decision and nobody else's information. But then again...they keep their religion to themselves as well.

Do you really care who someone voted for, where they go, if they go, to church, who they are sleeping with?

I do believe all the above mentioned are private matters and we need to stop labeling everybody...it will do nothing more than divide the country further when we really need to pull together as one.

Prejudiced people are way too narrow-minded. With the mixing and mingling of blood-lines in this country...It's hard to point a prejudiced finger at anyone without pointing that same finger back at yourself. Remember we are a "melting pot"!

Well the color of my state defines me as much as the color of my skin. Stereotypes are just an easy and cheap way out.

Honestly, being called a red stater doesn't bother me as much as people who think it's funny to use profanity in name calling. That irks me.
