I have 7 week old twins and during feeding time one of them starts screaming in pain, as I have started taking note of what is happening I have noticed that he does this while he is pooping and he just screams the entire time, but as soon as he is finished pooping everything goes back to normal. Has anyone ever heard about this happening before? If so what are possible solutions?

My son had allergic colitis, from a cows milk allergy and was the same way. At 4 weeks old. He was put on nutramigen and over night was a different baby. That was after trying soy, and ending up at the ER at night because he had small amount of blood in his BM. They did x-rays that showed nothing was wrong. And then I was told to give him 1/2 oz of apple juice and 1/2 oz of water mixed to help him go. And to try to help him go by pushing his legs up because he didn't know how to use the muscle yet, and to even use a thermometer with Vaseline. Went to the doctor for a follow up the next day, and he seen my son have a BM and seen that his intestine were turning in on them selves. Decided it was allergic colitis from a cows milk allergy. And I found out that some baby's have intestinal bleeding from soy. So he gave me a sample can of the nutramigen to see if it helped before I had to buy it, and sent us to a specialist the next day. Over night my son was already getting better, I was told he would probably out grow the cows milk allergy by 1, and he did.
If only one of your babies needs the nutramigen then I would give the other regular. That stuff costs to much to give it to a baby that doesn't need it. Especially when they get to where they are going threw 2 cans of formula a week each when they get older.

I easily have 2 little ones a 5 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous and a 2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous. first of all if he's throwing up you're able to be giving him much less in his bottle. attempt 2 or 3 ozinstead of five or 6. as long as he's taking some liquid he shouldn't get dehydrated. in simple terms save a watch on how what share moist diapers he has. if he's removing some thing then he shouldn't get dehydrated. some indicators to hunt for are if he would not moist a diaper in 4 to 6 hours, has sunken in eyes or darkish circles around the eyes, or whilst gently pinching the floor on the decrease back of the hand if it returns to everyday or maintains to be wrinkled. touch your docs workplace and ask then what you're able to do. they could want you to hold him in for a verify. good success and that i'm hoping your little boy gets extra powerful!!

If they are screaming when they are eating.. it could be that they are getting air bubbles trapped in their belly. Trying stopping to burp them, lay them across your lap on their belly to burp them (it will help). And when they are pooping... it is had clumps of poop? You might need to do a bottle of formula with 1-2 oz. of prune juice added to it.. that will soften their poop right up (watch out for those diapers, they will be really loose lol). You should let your pedi. know about these problems, but both of these "remedies" worked for my little one.

My youngest always screamed through her poops for the first 2 months. Then suddenly, she stopped. I don't know why she did it, as there was nothing physically wrong with her. She just didn't like the feeling, I guess.

so he screams when eating? or poping? or both??
Mine seemed to really grunt like shes having a really really hard time, the doctor told me they are just trying to learn how to use their muscles. I agree, is the poop soft or hard?
also, if its when hes eating, try burping him more often.

Is his poop hard or is it soft and mushy? It should be soft and mushy at his age. If it's hard, he will need some kind of dietary change. Call your ped.

My eldest daughter was like that as. The doctor told me to rub her belly and bicycle her legs to help it move along. I dont think it really made any difference, but she did grow out of it.

Call your pediatrician-there may be too much iron in the formula-or if breast feeding-something you are eating
