my 2002 grand prix stock head unit will not display all numbers when looking at track #,time etc...it will look like either all are filled in so its like 18:83 or half numbers like 3 is really an 8...it will come through correctly after a little while, sometimes taking longer...

my 2002 grand prix stock head unit will not display all numbers when looking at track #,time etc...it will look like either all are filled in so its like 18:83 or half numbers like 3 is really an 8...it will come through correctly after a little while, sometimes taking longer... as far as burned out crystals..the do appear at some point its almost like they need to warm up or cool down to be displayed even if parked in shade/sun happenes either time...all digits display correctly it just takes some time someitme 5 minutes someimtes 20 or more.......

LCDs do fail in this way. You might be able to replace just the LCD if you can find a repacement but otherwise .....

Some of the crystals are gone, burnt out.

the chip (IC) is bad inside the clock .... replace the clock
