It is a militarily trained (some in the US) group, which has taken over many of the old drug cartels, entire states of Mexico and has its sights set on the US border.
I think they are not reported in the Media because it shows the instability of Mexico and just how important it is we protect the border. If the Zetas were reported on, there would be an even greater backlash against the immigration bill.
