Maybe if you wanted to think about something before acting, that wouldn't mean that you're totally lost. I agree with you, it can work sometimes and it might not work other times.

You need to be prepared for upcoming events so that when an opportunity arrives, you are ready to take it. This is how you make sure you don't get lost by hesitating--by doing the 'thinking it through' part in advance. As far as life's surprises go, some situtations call for immediate action, and others call for the best action. If you are in a situtation where it looks like all your choices are bad ones, these are usually the good ones to hesitate on. Figure out what you need to do to keep the situation from getting worse, and then think up the best answer to fix it all together.

He who hesitates is lost. Really, yes it does occur. I mean hesitation is situation specific (should be). some people try hesitating trying to show they are too respecting you. If you really hesitate, give off that habit. Because you would just moan whenn an oppurtunity is lost. If you say no to boss (which sounds like you say "yes', that is you hope that boss would take it as "Yes") The yes from your heart wont be heared. People nowdays have gone so busy, that they don't have time to linger upon formalities. Hesitation and all such formality stuff only suits when you are being invited into a marriage ceremony, their you can hesitate to show that you are so silent and shy, girls would give away (die for you) hearts for you. Really, but in practical life believe me, its no such heart of loads. people don't care they are more into business, they need bold and sound personality. They need to hear clearly what they expect. And you too should be able to deliver what you do expect. If you are bold you have good oppurtunities and you would make it in all situations.

I faced a hell lot problems with my hesitations and one day when I cleared the hesitation off my throat, and souned boldly, It was and had been always a red carpet for me everywhere.

Have a good boldness or else have a good marriage ceremony whole life. its up to u to choose.

Definitely, because the sentiment of hesitation signifies a kind of fear, apprehension and sometimes elements of cowardice. The faith in human being asks us to have your KARMA on the foremost acceptance and once you have your destiny set upon your Karma you should not hesitate to achieve the paramount point of your target, even if you were unknown for that very target in first place. If you remember dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna on battlefield of Kurukshetra, Arjun was utterly in the state of hesitation and had lost confidence which was the foremost requirement of a warrior. He saw he was about to arrow his cousin brothers, his nephews, his grandfathers, his gurujan he became vegetable, had put down his bow and arrows and felt dejected. His hesitation was surely a mark of losing the target. But Krishna specifically illustrate what is the meaning of Karma and his teaching, his purpose, his determination led Arjuna to act on his senses and there were no hesitations before his eyes and so ultimately there was no question of his getting lost in the confusion. Therefore belief in Karma is the surest way to keep hesitation at bay.

Hesitation is a kind of second thought that often visit us. On many occasions it helps us get away from an awkward situation, get off an awkward perch. It is a kind of intuition.
But there are times when hesitation puts you in a dilemma and you are caught in the whirlpool and get lost in your mission. I hesitate to tell and later on realise that it was OK. Many philosophers believe that you better do rather than leave it undone, because you regret more for not having done something than for doing and regretting it.

If you hesitate it is assumed that it is because you are not fully aware of the circumstances or outcome of what it is you are hesitating over.

I find that in a lot of ways that is true, but for most when they hesitate, they are aware but are terrified because its new.

I dont find that those who hesitate lose, because a hesitation does not mean you are withdrawing from what it is you are hesitating over. Perhaps you lose in that you will never be destined to just DO because of fear.

The fact that it works for you sometimes and not others only proves that it is determined by what you end up doing. What it is you are hesitating over...

Not really;
But id caution,say, a young and eager-to-learn person
about this;
For ive met so-called clever people who think
that slow-and-hesitant means dumb,and that they should
be shown the (so called) error of their ways.

And though i'll NEVER meet the majority of people in
America,nonethe less i guess there are some of these
real clever people here too.

Hesitation works for me! I've plunged head long into things a thousand and one times before and 9 out of 10 times regretted it! Now....a moments hesitation, works wonders!

No, I do not agree with the maxim.

But I love playing poker with people who do believe that. That belief (corroborated by my observations) almost guarantees that my barely noticeable hesitation before I raise the bet will lure them into the whirling blades. (Those of you who play draw poker will be able to imagine the situations that qualify for the exercise of this maneuver).

No I think the opposite. I like to take my time with decisions. I can live with the knowledge I may lose something, because if a carefully made decision proves to be wrong, at least I know I put thought into it, and did not go in blindly.
