Have your business card with you at all times. Hand it out to everyone you speak to. Send all your family and friends a letter letting people know you are in RE. Advertise. Hold open houses for experienced brokers so you can meet potential buyers. Go out on appointments with other brokers so you can see how they obtain signatures. Make a list of vacants and go see some property, learn what is on the market. Talk to mortgage bankers about referring their clients to you.

Do what you say you will do, follow up and hang on. It can be a bumpy ride.

Work your friends, family, networking groups, sports teams, associations, etc... And build it from there. Do not weed yourself out of the market and spend money on advertising. Your business card and your handshake will make you a lot of money if you work hard and commit over the next 10 years. If you're not willing to do that, find a salaried job with security... it will pay more now.

Browse your local bookstore. Every one I've ever seen has had half a shelf on how to do real estate.

Your office should provide support in the form of a mentor. Not all do, but if yours doesn't, you're working at the wrong place.

Even if the market happens to be bad where you live now ( its is great where I am) it will improve soon. So just ride it out for now.
