I suggest you download Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D (they’re free), install them, update them and run them. If they don't seem to be able to get rid of everything they report finding, try running them again, this time in Safe Mode. Also, turn off System Restore to evict any copies of bad stuff that might be lurking there.

To get into Safe Mode:

1. Log out and reboot your machine.
2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key
3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.
4. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance. You may have to log in as Administrator to delete the bad files.
5. When you're finished, log out and reboot back into normal mode.

Update and run both regularly, along with a good anti-virus package.

Good luck.

Sounds like you got a spyware anti-blocker. Basically a spyware blocker is supposed to block spyware from getting onto your computer. This does the reverse by blocking normal stuff... most annoying. Get yourself a copy of Mozilla Firefox (an alternate browser program). Use that to download Ad Aware or Spybot Search & Destroy (both are excellent spyware removers). Update whichever one you installed and have it scan your system. Follow the prompts and let it remove all suspicious files. Once it is done, try your internet explorer again. If it happens again, just use the Firefox as your main browser. It will actually work better!

Very helpful answer there mr "I got in first" You probably have adware doesn't help much

I'd reccomend these 2, run each in turn
ADAWARE fro www.lavasoftusa.com (Free personal version)
also SPYBOT S&D from www.spybot.org (Again free for home use)

Also worth having in toolbox is CCLEANER from www.ccleaner.com again a free download, and a good general windows tidyup utility.

try updating you virus protection or enabling the windows based popup blocker.

If you keep getting that same popup over and over copy address of the window that keeps popping up and paste it to the "Restricted Site" list.

to get to the restricted site list:

Tools>Internet Options>Security> Click
