In ENGLISH, there aren't any turtles called Brazilian, but in Chinese and possibly other languages, RES (red eared sliders), Trachemys scripta elegans are called Brazilian turtles. Perhaps you're refering to a RES. RES will reach 7-8" straight shell length (males) and females will reach 9-11". AS they get older they will fight and you may want to seperate. When they get that big, you should try an get 400 litre tank or pond for one, 1200 litre tank or more. They need a lot of swimming room.

Here is a caresheet and pictures of a RES:

There is no species usually called a 'Brazilian turtle' in most of the world. If you can help us with the species name or common name, we will try to help.

You can identify most common turtles at the World of Turtles gallery at http;//www/austinsturtlepage.com
