They were linked by the fact that Bush was never going to get a better opportunity to invade Iraq because of the public mood and his support. Iraq was on his agenda pre 9/11. When 9/11 happenned his administration had the CIA look for any possible connection with Iraq. When none was found,(which I'm sure they knew would be the case becuase Saddam fought a huge war against the Fundementalists and persecuted them in his own country) they chose the doctorine of preemption as justification even though Korea and Iran are much bigger threats. When there were no WMD's soon the purpose for being in Iraq changed to a"Fight for Democracy".

There may not have been direct connections but some of UBL`s guys were in Iraq just before the war started one high up in UBL`s terrorist org was getting medical treatment there.
Time to move on from this who did what and was where ,I think it`s time yah back your own country and soldiers over seas putting there lives on the line so yah can spout off garbage, stop listening to the meathead leaders on the Dem party, they control the house and senate but are impotent to get things done not even viagra can get the Dems going.
Bush will be gone soon yet they continue to attack him but sympothize with the terrorists or as they call them freedom fighters.
The Dems don`t care for there soldiers only to get in power .
Yah call Bush stupid but he beat the Dems not once but twice not bad for a so called dummy.

Actually, I have never heard anyone at anytime say they thought Iraq was behind 9/11 or had anything to do with it.
But Liberals like to make it seem as though this was an argument presented as a reason for the War. Here are the reasons for the war:

I do not think they had a direct connection but he obviously supported terrorism with his funding of suicide bombers which only encourages more. I also think his anti-US talk for years and the way we basically kept allowing him to back further and further away from the sanctions at the end of th Gulf War encouraged Osama also. The more other nations stood up and show how they can get the US to back down only encourages a group like Al-Quaida who just wants to wait us out to achieve their mission.

Because they drank the Bush Administration koolaid and believe everything this lying administration has ever uttered. The 17-29% ( depending on which poll you look at) of people who still believe that need to join a recreation of " The Peoples' Temple". Even though their tarnished tin god has acknowledged that Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11, you still have people like Ann Coulter and her ilk who say, Saddam has something to do with 9/11. She even said that yesterday during her time on MSNBC's Hardball with Chris Matthews which is abstolutely scary
To those who do not believe people did not imply or state that Iraq had something to do with 9/11
Dick Cheney implied during his Meet the Press interview with Tim Russert in Dec 2001. He also did it on a return visit Sept 2003 and he did it again Sept 2006
