I live in Missouri and I HAD to take my birth certificate with me when I got my new social security card. In my opinion when I got married I wanted my new name on everything instead of my married name. I can see why she wants to change her social security card too. I did! You might want to call your social security office and see what they require, but I do remember I had to have a copy of my birth certificate.

Why do you want to have your name change on your social security card. Keep it the way it is right now. There's nothing wrong with that.
