Well...my dad's been divorced now for what, 10 years now? And my mom got remarried so now he is looking for a wife. I guess that I want him to just be happy...and I think a great wife would do the trick. I wouldn't want my dad to get married RIGHT after a divorce though that would be weird! But once he finds a wonderful person and he's happy, I'm happy=)

Well over 25 years ago my parents divorced but were still civil and friendly. My mother had already been dating another man (I didn't care too much for) but she was happy and moving on and married him 10 years later. My father had met another woman about 2 years after the divorce and married maybe a year later. My step mother was very good to him and the rest of our small family. She was not my mother but I held a lot of respect for her as my dad was very content and settled. My step father died in 1993. My step mother died in 2003. My real parents have been dating and spending every other weekend or so and vacation time together since then. They have known each other now well over 45 years. Go figure. It may be difficult at first, but if your father is truly happy, content and comfortable, get use to the idea and be supportive for him. Remember, you were there first before the new wife. Keep the peace. It works out for everyone better and easier in the long run when all get along.

My parents are not divorced but I wish they were.... I'm 35 and all my life I've heard and still hear how they are not happy and are going to divorce....I told them to do it all ready!

I believe a person should be happy and if another wife makes your father happy he should remarry.

I'm pretty sure my dad re-married. He didn't invite me to the wedding, so I couldn't care less. I feel bad for his wife because she doesn't seem to realize what he's really like.

My mom got re-married as well. I live with her still and I don't mind. She asked us what we thought of her boyfriend before she even considered getting re-married.

I do not mind. As a human being and yet in the age of thrill, energy and enthusiasm, why not. Human rights fully applicable here.

I could have cared less if the bum married again... but I would have preferred he didn't marry my cousin (his niece) like he did. Gross.
