Elizabeth Edwards called in to Chris Matthews show when Ann Coulter was the guest and asked her to stop the personal attacks. Ann said stop making money off of it. What do you think? Did you see it?

I saw it and to me Elizabeth Edwards won for the simple reason she really showed what a mean spirited, small minded, slime Ann Coulter is. While Coulter had some supporters there, Elizabeth stated that it was people like Coulter who drive people away from the political process with the personal attacks instead of debating the issues that affect the country. So Elizabeth called her on the carpet for suggesting that her husband should have been killed in a terrorist attack and also about the column she wrote that claimed John Edwards had a bumper sticker on his car which said, " Ask me about my dead son". All Coulter could do was snigger, because she could not come up with a competent answer for that. Figures

Despite the fact that I would never vote for John Edwards, I have always felt that Elizabeth was a classy person. This confrontation only served to strengthen my opinion of her. She could have been insulting right back to Ann, but she chose her words carefully and kept her dignity intact. There is only so much that any woman can be expected to take when it comes to watching one woman taking pot shots at her family, before she feels that she has to take a stand. In addition, I agree with what she said about avoiding personal attacks in order to avoid lowering political dialogue. I only wish that Ann Coulter had even the smallest shreds of a conscience, so Elizabeth's words might have had some impact. As it is, though, I regretfully think that they were wasted on her.

When you're right, you're right. I think that Elizabeth Edwards hit the nail on the head. And of course, Ann Coulter is going to try and pull something out of it, since she is the closest thing to the Anti-Christ we have walking the face of the earth right now.

Read ANYTHING Ms. Coulter has EVER written or said, then go out to the web and research it. It's a sure cure -- and a good gauge of your intelligence: Take the number of quotes you have to read before you realize she is a venal lying moron and divde that number by 160, and you have your IQ! This really works!
P.S. Stop listening to Fox News, too. Last survey of news viewers showed Fox News viewers only got 23% of their answers write when questioned about last year's major news events (winner was McNeil-Lehrer Newshour whose viewers got almost 90% right). And if ANYONE on Fox says some version of "Some people say," "People who are on the inside in Washington are now saying," etc. -- it's a lie, and they know it's a lie when they say it -- they simply can't be prosecuted for it or forced to retract it.

I saw the clip of it this morning on Good Morning
America. As usual Ms. Coulter made snide remarks while Mrs. Edwards was speaking. Mrs Edwards was classy and articulate. Her remark on how we cannot have a honest debate on real issues because of divisive comments was well made and lost on Ms. Coulter.
