I've answered only a handful of Immigration questions of late because I believe this bill has about 0% chance of passing . Hence a moot point . And even with the new additions it has about a 0% chance of passing . Personally , I believe the notion was floated in a clever political move . Prior to this bill , America was divided . Some wanted amnesty , some wanted strict enforcement and fences , and others were somewhere in between . 3 separate factions . But just take one look around . The vast majority of Americans oppose the new bill . Therefore we have united in a rather ironic way . Both Dems and Reps .
The bill will not pass .
A few of you know what I think will happen next , but I'll save that for now and just listen to your opinions .But if I'm right , we'll know in a few weeks about the 'next step' I see coming .
I think most of the immigration debate is a charade or even a trial balloon .. . . .. . What Do You Think ?

I think I go back and forth some time I have your confidence that it is 0% and then I get surprised like yesterday. I did not think they had worked long enough revamping it and so was so shocked that it came up for vote already and then seeing how Reid is really putting a limit to debate and amendments in a way I have never seen before. I just pray the House Republicans are united as I think they are I think they are our saving grace.

I think that many industries depend on illegals and those industries contribute heavily to elected politicians. The taxpayers want a painless solution to the problem, and would rather complain about it than help get practical legislation passed. There is no painless solution to the problem, and YA discussions about it seem to be degenerating into vigilante name calling and entitled defiance.
If you have ever been to the South Texas brush country or the Arizona desert, good luck with that fence idea. They come through the natural gas pipes and cattle cars now, and end up dying in the desert just to get to the promise of a job for slave wages in a slaugterhouse.
They will always come, as long as employers hire them. Stop the employers and the Section 8 housing, and they won't come anymore.
Of course, you'll pay a lot more for food and housing.

I can't say that I know what will happen if this bill is finally stopped.
I have a good idea what might happen if it does SOMEHOW make it trough.
The whole thing being created in secret meetings and such, is enough for me to be suspect of its contents.
What we SHOULD do if/when the bill fails, is refocus our attentions on
GETTING THE FENCE BUILT.
Then, we can enforce our laws, and refine them.

We cannot continue w/o something. Maintaining the status quot will do nothing but let in more illegals. We need to do more than enforce the laws we have because they have not worked. The states will do nothing to help because immigration is a Federal responsibility and the States will not/ cannot assist. The government messed this up by letting/ ignoring illegal immigration, since RR was Pres, now it's come back to bit them in the butt. I have a plan, do you. Peace

I think it is possible that it could pass. They are working so hard to push it through. I read an article a week ago about Dems wanting to try and "clay pigeon" it which scared me! I'm thinking they'll try everything possible to get it done. I just hope it doesn't happen. It's an unjust bill and should just get chunked out the window.

I hope not, but after the events yesterday, I think a lot of wheeling and dealing is going on in the Senate. Unfortuneately , I think it will get by the Senate and sent to the House, where who knows what will happen to it.

Unfortunately I think it WILL pass - just because nobody thinks it will. Our government has proven time after time that they don't particularly care to do what the American people REALLY want, so why should we be surprised? I wouldn't be surprised if somebody's getting kickbacks from Mexico to push this through - like they really want all those illegals back.

If those coats-n-ties, inside the beltway. would actually listen to the Ameircan People? It never would've gotten this far along. I hope they start seeing some backlash on this. And do as the Country wants them to do.

I don't think it will pass either. I wish it had died the first time around a few weeks ago.
