What about other big name bookstores? Like Borders? Or any others?
I don't really want to buy a book I need to read because it's only 15 pages and takes 5 minutes to read, so that what I was wondering... thanks.

Thanks y'all.
P.S. To the jerks that made comments about being to cheap: it's called being a college student and supporting causes like United Way. Why waste $10 on a book that's going to take 5 minutes to read, when I could buy food for a homeless person instead? Think about it.
Thanks :)

Yeah, I do it all the time, most book stores have a coffee shop in them, buy a cup of coffee, grab a book sit at a table and read it. No one cares and you will be shocked to see how many people do it.

Most Barnes & Noble stores, have a sitting area, where customers can read books, have snacks and drink coffee.
If you want to know about other bookstores, call them and ask, directory assistance can give you the telephone number of the stores in your city.

I work in Waterstone's and I find it irritating when people are reading books they haven't bought. Okay, have a flick through and see if it's the kind of thing you want but don't just sit down somewhere and read it. You wouldn't think it was okay to eat a small chocolate bar in a store and then just leave the wrapper. Plus when you're sitting down on the floor you get in the employees' way. We're actually trying to do a job you know! No I don't think it'd be okay.If you're going to don't get caught!

I am not 100 % sure about the policy on it but i think it is a good idea...I mean, they have special places for reading their so...and if it is a longer book,, just remember what page you were on and go back the next day and continue reading it. Just sit in the back so no one see's you ;)

Sure, I used to do it all the time in college. Nobody really minds, as long as you don't sit there all day and read like 4 books cover to cover. Also, as long as you buy a coffee there or something, you are technically a customer, so they have to let you browse through books.

I'm not sure about Barnes & Noble, but I know that at Borders you can. At least my hometown one. If not then just go to your local library, you can definantly just sit down there and read.
Hope this helps!

Sure you can. I do it all the time.
Who would publish a book that is only 15 pages anyway? I wouldn't pay for that.

I think that you could do that. I have seen people do that. I agree about what you said why waste the ten dollarswhen you can read it before anybody notices and then do something good with that money.

I did it just last night. Read two magazines, glanced through three books, spent 2 hours, bought one book--but no one made me.
