No one seems to consider that if Kobe goes to the Bulls, he'd have to play for Scott Skiles. Can anyone seriously imagine that being a good fit? Wouldn't that be the most vicious battle of wills you've ever seen?

Kobe is getting to the point where he just wants a ring. After next year, there is a possibility he may sign with chicago. First, let's see what happens in LA, because he will NOT be traded to chicago.

This trade could ever happen for one simple reason; Scott Skiles builds all-around teams not concentrating on just 1 or 2 players. The more strong peices you have, the better you can handle when one player is off or injured. Skiles would not give up 3 key players for 1 all-star, even if its the best offensive player in the game today. His coaching style is too fundamental and "old school". With Skiles and the Bulls, its team-first mentality, no egos. Despite Kobe being a solid underrated defender, trading for him would open up too many other holes in the defense and his ego would affect the teams chemistry. Skiles wont risk solid team defense for stronger offense.

I think I just read an article where the Bulls GM said they wouldn't necessarily consider taking Kobe. The reason Greg Popovich has so much success in San Antonio is because he tells all the players that he runs the show and if they don't want to cooperate then they can take a hike - superstar or no superstar. Apparently, it works if you're good at drafting talent.

No, he could not play for Skiles.

Kobe plays hard, but does not play defense, and is a little selfish (don't get started).

Skiles' system doesn't have room for the Superstar player, which is the problem with the Bulls...no Superstar.
