The Democratic Party because ever since the Great Depression the Democratic Party has advocated scientific management of the economy based on the science of economics, specifically the work of John Maynard Keynes. The Democrats understand that the economy functions as a unified whole and that if it functions well all benefit. Democrats are better at understanding the true nature of cost. For example in environmental concerns the Republicans will consider only the cost of cleaning up a pollution source and will be very sympathetic to the business that must bear that cost. Democrats will consider the cost of NOT cleaning up the pollution in terms of the diseases it will cause, the loss of work time, even the loss of tax receipts from people being sick and out of work, and will then balance those costs v. the cost to the business of cleaning up. And very often Democrats will even arrange a tax incentive for such a business so that it will be able to afford the cost of cleaning up, and remain in business. Democrats also understand the need for a national health care system that works, while Republicans have supported the right of drug companies to charge the government and consumers every penny they can get. Democrats historically have supported the right of workers to organize into unions and bargain for higher wages and better working conditions, while Republicans have always tried to break up unions so that employers can make more money. Here again the Democrats recognize the integrated nature of the economy--one company's workers are another company's customers and having prosperous customers helps every business. Its not hard to figure out, Democrats think things through, they do not react to first appearances.

Neither party represents the interests of all Americans, and both parties are strongly influenced by big business. That's why I am an independent, a pox on both of the parties. Look at how they betrayed us in voting for the abomination which is the senate shamnesty bill! The American people don't want this crap, but the pols are trying to shove it down our throats.

The Dems are the party of minorities while the Repubs are owned lock, stock, and barrel by big business. Lobbyists have more say in creating and defeating legislation than do the citizens of the US. Leave the parties and send no contributions to either party. Support only those pols who are for the US citizen!

There is no political party in the US that "best" represents the interests of all Americans. Why? because the Republicans are lap dogs of the wealthy and powerful, there membership is full of blue bloods and I call it the GOP (Grand Over-class Party).

They have a hands off approach to government handling or protecting the people, they want business to control everything that shouldn't be controlled by like health care and public well-being. They have'nt really done @#$! to over turn Roe v. Wade in any meaningful way. They say their conservative but spend our tax dollars in a "liberal" sense.

And the funny thing about them is they want to control our behaviors through laws.

Demos suck because they lie and cheat us but not as well as the Republicans do. I consider then the lesser of two evils, the different side of the same coin...

I don't think any of them truly represent all of America, but that isn't what you asked. I'd say the Democrats have a small lead in that department, but they often make themselves ineffective by trying to please too many people. Then there are the Republicans, who speak of morality only when restricting social behavior, but when it comes to business, they take the "why can't I do that--it's my business/money" stance the democrats do with people's sex lives. The Libertarians sound interesting on the surface (lower or eliminate taxes--make people pay for what they use (roads, schools, etc.) instead , until you realize that some of their ideas can be pushed too far and ruin some of the good that comes from the government collecting a bunch of money to spend for us.

No party can possibly represent our interests. A party represents its own interests. The best leaders will refuse to associate with any party and just flat-out do what's right. Too bad none of our current wannabes have the balls to do such a thing.

No party truly best represents All.

You make an exclusive statement, thus the turndown.

The GOP serves me not well, just as I am assured that some feel the Dems are equally non-representational.

None of them do. They all have their own agendas, which may be better for one group, but not another. The closest is probably the Libertarians, such as Ron Paul. He stands for the constitution and believes is equal liberties. That dos not mean, though, that it would work for everyone.

Libertarian Party

They believe in personal freedom. Unfortunately people are stupid and love the government coming into their lives and telling them what to do.

By the way, there are more than two parties out there...

None, because they only represent their own self interests. It is time for an independent president.
