At 18 you become an adult, with the ability to enter into a legally binding contract -- like a lease agreement for your own apartment. You're free to do as you please.
In fact, you might even have been able to do so sooner, but it would have required going to court and petitioning to become an emancipated minor. But I do worry about any young man who immediately makes some guy the center of her universe as soon as she comes of age, or is using him to get away from a bad situation at home. Good luck to you...

Its 18 of course and you are now free to go out forge a life and do as you please....... whatever form that may take.
You've given this a lot of thought. No offense but you need to think some more and consider what may happen to you.
Relationships at any age are tricky and at 18? How many people do you know that are older that have been with the same person since 18? Summer is fine but what happens when the reality of having you around all of the time sets in. Then comes living together, rent, bills and being in a commited relationship. This is tough at any age regardless of maturity or even if both have great jobs and money.
Then comes you no degree even if you only passed by the skin of your teeth. A GED won't cut it so you will never be successful. 10 years from now when you want to be a manager or go to college or some other kind of school....... you won't be able to really.
I know you only asked about age but you might really want to talk to someone older about this. Not to preach but this step could be the one that actually defines your entire life. .

Bear in mind that there is a difference between "age of majority/emancipation" (recognition by the LAW) and "age of license/permission." This might be where the argument of 18 versus 21 comes from:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_majority
"Indiana Code (IC 31-16-6-6) sets the age of emancipation at 21 years of age. "
http://www.supportcollectors.com/csrc/indiana.php#majority
"§ 31-34-20-6. Emancipation of child.
(a) The juvenile court may emancipate a child under section 1(5) [IC 31-34-20-1(5)] of this chapter if the court finds that the child:
(1) wishes to be free from parental control and protection and no longer needs that control and protection;
(2) has sufficient money for the child's own support;
(3) understands the consequences of being free from parental control and protection; and
(4) has an acceptable plan for independent living. "

Not a good idea all in all.. I highly value education, won't go far without AT LEAST your grade 12.
But yes, it's legal to move out of you parents home when you're 18 in Indiana.

It's 18...you are of legal age to get an apartment or house or whatever. I moved out when I was 18 and moved to Texas and had my own apartment.

Whoa, girl! I think you should stay in school! Look, I don't get along with my grandma either, but at least finish high school or go to college! Trust me, it's gonna be an unfair world out there...
