I think the gays are trying the old "See we're just like you"
A childish way of making Republicans accept them.
This will not work.
But I'm sure they will accept their votes.

Why should they hate anyone? Republicans get an unfair reputation of hate-mongering. I find that the liberal-minded media is somewhat biased and loves to plant labels or make inaccurate accusations of well-known republicans or republicans in general.

I don't believe they do this on purpose, they just reflect what they have been led to believe.

I have come to believe that both liberals and conservatives basically want the same thing. A good country, fairness, and peace in our time. The big controversy arises in the genuine disagreement about how to accomplish such lofty goals.

Each group is biased against the other and does not see or hear clearly with an open mind. Sad. I prefer to try to see people as they are, accept them as they are, and avoid bashing.

A good reality check is to see who can laugh at jokes made about their group.

I'm a gay conservative but not a republican (more libertarian than anything else by officially non-partisan). At the heart of things I believe in some core republican beliefs: fiscal responsibility, limited government, strong national security etc. As far as right wing I do believe abortion should be illegal (my standpoint is not one of Christianity but more from biology) and I personally believe we should just nuke the Middle East. However, the only things that stop me from being joining the party are I believe gays should be allowed to married and I don't think religion should have anything to do with government. I don't think you should stereotype what gay republicans/conservatives are or what they believe. That is not being very opened as what liberals are supposed to be known for (aside from being pinko commie terrorist but I try not to generalize).

But to answer your question, I feel no conflict between being a homosexual and a conservative. I have my beliefs, if you don't agree then that is your right as an American.

I'm gay and I used to be republican, now I'm a moderate independent.. I know other guys who are gay and republican and they aren't conflicted at all, there are gay republicans, there are prochoice republicans, there are even a few atheist republicans, In my opinion the best thing we can do is respect each others viewpoints.

I feel conflicted by the fact because the majority of politicians do little more than give the LGBT community lip service to garner votes. When was the last time you saw a major political candidate got to bat for the LGBT community?

I know one gay republican and he doesn't hate any of the above. He hates foreigners. He believes the United States is supreme to all other countries.

Why do you belief the stereotypical bigotry that you are feed? Who hates the poor and minorities?

Republicans don't throw Oreo cookies at Black Politicians, Republicans don't call NYC "Hymietown" or thinks Gandhi works at the 7-11.

Republicans didn't sign "Don't ask" or the "Defense of Marriage Act" into law.

I think you are the one filled with hate. Why do liberals do these things, why do democrats hate so much?

Republicans are part of a party. A political party consists of many points of view and priorities banded together for a better chance of their views being pushed forward. Believe it or not, there are all kinds of people from all kinds of backgrounds in each party.

I bet there are even moral people in the Democratic party.

"all republicans"? I don't hate anyone and love everyone as brothers and sisters, even morons.

Here's a better message:
"Gay republicans: do you know that all the other republicans hate you and wish you were dead?"
May be a bit harsh but that's reality. I don't know what fantasy world those people are living in.
