Here is Ron Paul's take on this, on FOX/Neil Cavuto. I was going to answer your other question about "Ed Brown" and the lack of media coverage, but it said you deleted it. Did you?
Ed was not allowed to bring in evidence, or prior court cases to present to the Jury, by the Judge, and so got fed up with what he considered a "sham" trial. He just didn't show up to court, because they would not allow his side. He was guilty first, and had to prove his innocence, which isn't what America is about. He's taking his views to the extreme, (I pay my taxes, but I run a business), but I believe 30% of Americans don't pay, or severely fudge them around. I have an accountant, and she plays by the book, because I don't need the headache, but that doesn't mean he's not trying to make a statement.
The Grace Commission, a tax study put forth by Ronald Reagan stated that 100% of your tax payment that is actually used, is JUST PAYING INTEREST on money borrowed by the government. It doesn't pay for roads, schools, or even politicians salaries.
Federal Income Tax does not pay for roads, the tax in your gasoline does. It does not pay for Police and Firefighters, those are STATE sponsored. The military can get paid by the Federal Income Tax that taxes CORPORATIONS, not individuals. It's not like anyone is saying that there will be no income tax, just shouldn't apply to most *individuals*.
Neil has a hard time trying to get Ron Paul to say the wrong thing, but in the end, ends up looking like a buffoon.

Please inform us on how taxes are illegal?
Ed Brown is nothing more than a conspiracy nut job wacko.
"...Brown was the spokesman for an organization called the Constitution Defense Militia, and had become involved in the militia movement in late 1993."
"...Brown claimed that the law enforcement officials surrounding his properties were part of a "Zionist, Illuminati, Free Mason movement," and that the federal government had no jurisdiction in New Hampshir."
"...the Browns believe the IRS and the federal income tax are part of a deliberate plot perpetrated by Freemasons to control the American people and eventually the world."
'nuff said.

You aren't a patriot, trust me. Ed Brown has proven time and time again to be mentally unstable, he never has had any facts to go with his assertion. It is the law to pay income tax and most of the time the services those taxes go far are critical to our nation's infrastructure. If he wants to be a martyr for his delusion, fine. You can join him if you want, but I don't think you'd like prison very much. Stop whining and pony up like the rest of us. Then, start thanking God that you can take advantage of all our country has to offer.

Ed Brown is the man. I am a college student so I don't make enough to be scrutinized by the IRS.

Your arguement makes no sense, you'll refuse to pay taxes, but when servies are cut you will complain. When your highways crumble to pieces who will you complain to? Your refusal to pay the IRS eventually will lead to sales, and property taxes. What will happen when your house burns down, or gets robbed because no police or firefighters to prevent it. your "cause" has no validity and makes no sense.

Sure, let's not pay taxes and let the military vanish. Screw Ed Brown and the radical pony he rode in on.
