...the movie directed by Paul Verhoeven.
I saw the tribute on Youtube, for its 30th anniversary ....kind of fascinating story.
No way to find the movie somewhere except for Amazon.com where it's sold by stock.
There's someone who knows more about it?

For Zoe:Concerning your last name, yes It's pretty cool! In somehow u are linked with such a genius.
By the way...musical? I can't imagine that story working in a musical....it sounds so strange. But where did u see it? In Uk or Holland.
Do u know where I can find the movie. did u enjoy it?

I am Dutch, so yeah, I remember. They made a musical out of it recently. It was horrible.

edit: I saw the musical in the Netherlands, I don't think it has been translated into English, but you miss nothing, absolutely nothing. It was crap. But then I don't like musicals at all. I'll have a look to see where you can order the film online.
edit: you can order it here: http://amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_w_h_/202-8283312-5843008?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=turkish+delight

yes 'remember' it.

Never liked it back than, but guess that's due to the age. Hated the autor of the book for quite a while and Hauer after that film, but thankfully turned round about that as aged wised me up a bit ;)

Never got to really like or 'understand' Verhoeven though (Zwartboek - Blackbook is good though)

I've seen it, I have a huge crush on Rutger Hauer, and it's one of his best films. It is a wonderful story, you should try and get hold of a copy.

It is a candy. But yes, I remember the film, too. I am a big Verhoeven fan.
I am sure you can still buy it.
