The question was? Positive news out of Iraq...? The asker then detailed an article about positive news in Iraq. My answer was:

Here's my answer:
Question Details: Hey McCrevie, whether you choose to believe it or not, Fox News is as red as cnn is blue. I'm not disputing this article either way, but I spent a year over there and they DO NOT want us there. So no amount of good news is going to sway my opinion.

Childishness, that's why. As a conservative, I see nothing wrong with your response, whether I agree or disagree.

I'm sorry that you received a violation for this and recommend that you fight it.

Well actually both the question and your answer were violations of the Yahoo Answers TOS. The question is in violation for: "proof that cons are hypocrites ) They are calling all republicans hypocrites, Your answer is in violation for : " Wow, way to prove yourself ignorant " You made a personal attack aginst the asker. . You cannot make negative comments about individuals in Yahoo Answers. Now as to the process: Anyone can send a violation notice about any question or any answer anytime they choose too. If a question or answer gets a certain number of violation reports, Yahoo automatically deletes the question or answer. You then receive a violation report and e-mail. You can challenge a violation report. I have done so in the past, and had my points reinstated and received an e-mail from a real human from Yahoo. Also note, Yahoo does track violation reports and answer ratings, to make sure that you are not continuely reporting the same person or continuely giving a the same person a negative answer rating. The easist way, is just to not personally critise a specific group or person. If you see someone else doing so, either ignore it, or report them for violating the TOS. I personally report those who ask the same question 5 times, or those who go over the top critising a group or person. I don't care what thier political persuasion is.

Having been active on YA politics for quite some time, it's pretty obvious that the YA police indiscriminately send violation notices for ANY question or answer that is reported, regardless of content or credibility of the offense. Basically, if you report someone, YA is going to zap it. Seems a bit ridiculous to me, particularly when the question or answer merely expresses a strong opinion without insulting anyone.

Yahoo does not actually read violations and when they do they do not properly investigate. Maybe it is a volume issue. They usually just agree with the person who reported the violation. True democracy at work huh?

People violate for stupid reasons, I guess they have nothing better to do or can't handle someone disagreeing w/ them. People shouldn't use this forum if they only want to hear from people that agree with them. By the way love your name, Red Sox rule!!!!!!!

Just file a dispute, you can always appeal. Then just for fun, click on to his answers page and file abuse reports on everything that guy wrote since the dawn of time.

I've gotten violations like this as well. If the truth hurts report em. Look at their leader, he and his side kick Cheney want to close down the National Archives. That should tell you something. Feel proud you got their goat.

I think there are groups on answers who are placed there by different political parties that want to censure answers so they can look good I do believe answers has a effect on many people even some who don't participate,

Because you disagreed. They should read answers before sending the violation notice.
