Hi I put in loads of practise myself I think you have to really take the test seriously and put the practise in. Also I only took six single lessons(40mins) one double and a lesson just before my test which really helps to get used to the road conditions on the day! I passed first time which was a great confidence boost but I really did put a lot of hours in practising my reverse parking around the corner I just had such a mental block when it came to it lol just a distant memory now also take all the known test routes and practise three point turns reverse corner parking etc whatever you find difficult its different for everyone. Also know your rules of the road and understand all the road signs it will give you so much more confidence on the day and just use those mirrors and signal mirrors again sooooo important and you won't go to far wrong. Good luck

I took about 18-20 hour long lessons, and failed my first test. Second got through to the last half mile, where I received my only two minors - the examiner said he thought he was gonna have a clean slate, but I think I must have lost my nerve and started making mistakes!
I'd recommend at least a few professional lessons, but if you've got a family member/friend to take you out, that'll up your experience too. People brag about passing with only one lesson, but that's stupid - a monkey could drive a car, but you need experience of the roads to be a good driver. You need to encounter other drivers, and make your mistakes. Everyone makes embarrassing errors, but when you do it in a professional lesson, you've got your driving instructor to slam on the brakes with their dual controls. If you blitz your way through a test then find yourself stuck, you're stuck. There's no one else to help you.
Good luck, try not to stress (easier said than done) and don't feel bad if you don't pass first or second or third time. Eventually, you'll get it done!

5 one hour lessons. passed second time. i got then banned for dangerous driving (i was drunk and smashed into a carbut out run the police hence only dangerous driving not drunk also which would have been a lot worse) and lost my licence for a year and had to retake my test, had 1 refresher lesson and passed no problem. so i have taken 3 tests and passed 2 of them with a total of 6 lessons.

12 lessons - failed, 10 more passed. From the end of the year they are bringing in a law that states you have to do at lease 50 lessons before the test.
