I have an interview shortly. I had a position about 2 years ago that was very relevant to the one I am applying for. I leaned and accomplished a lot at this position, but I was the "victim" of age discrimination and when I levied a complaint against my former employer I was laid off under the premise of financial hardship to the company. I have two glowing letters of recommendation from my supervisors at the company, however I am concerned that the company I am interviewing with will call the company for a reference. Should I do or say anything in the interveiw if asked?

The very first question which you have to face will be
"why you left the last job"
Here, you have to be very claver - do not criticize the company. State the reason that due to my age people wanted to take advantage and I finally resigned.
Till you are asked to give proof do not show these letters otherwise you will be in problem.

The worst thing you can do is mention this. Speak of all the positive things that happened and that you accomplished. When asked why you're not working there any more, say the company was undergoing financial problems and you were unfortunately one of the victims. If your supervisors gave you good references, they won't turn around and tell a different story to your interviewer. Just go in there with a confident manner and don't stutter or fumble when they ask you this inevitable question. Practice answering it with a friend.

This is tricky. I love talking about negatives. I would avoid the age thing all together - don't bring it up, no matter what. Say you worked there 2 years ago, have two great recommendations that you can provide, and as far as getting laid off - say exactly what you said: the company was suffering from financial hardship and that was the reason I was given (if they even bring up getting laid off).

Oh yea, I'm in a class for marketing - can you take my fitness survey? Thanks http://www.surveymonkey.com/MySurvey_Responses.aspx?sm=7HoTubwUEyTYhvjeQqdwDhI%2fCtAJrZ1JHWngJAR2yzY%3d

Tell her the company downsized. You have good references from there. I would not tell her you complained about age discrimination. It will make you look like victim and no one wants to hire a victim

honesty is the best pollice however!
don't bring up the age thing. try not to play victim and keep your answer vague!
Just say it was time for me to move on to pursu other oppertunities .. now if you haven't worked sence then you have to explain why you haven't worked and this moving on to new opertunitys will not work at that point!
