the universe comes complete with many constants and restrictions, such as the speed of light, permeability of free space, permitivity of free space, Gravitational constant, Hubble's constant, Laws of thermodynamics, and the list just goes on.
Physicists also have good reason to belive that quarks and leptons may truly be fundamental particles and are thus the building blocks of reality.
One possible model of the universe is Steady State Theory, in which the universe has been moving forever apart but creating matter in between. Recent reasearch suggests this could actually be true, since the Big Bang model is beginning to fall apart (inflation theory)

Judging by the reponses I got to a "gay marriage basic freedom for all" question, I would say that hatred and gross stupidity will most certainly be permanent in this universe, if those straight hetero-law-abing respondees are allowed to continue to legally marry and even worse, have kids to share those worthless qualities with.
Sure I have bad sentence structure and am king of the run on sentence, but at least I care about people dspite differences. LOL

Good and evil :)
... Insanity, sanity
... Happiness, sadness
... Love, hate
... Acceptance, rejection
... Sweet innocence, masked devil
etc. =)
I would say.. there are many permanent things in the universe, and mainly these are the things with opposites that cannot live without each other, such as the philosophy of the yin and the yan. :)
Hey. Every opinion is helpful one way or another, no? :)
... Life's too short to be miserable. :D

nothin in this universe is constant. Everything will eventaully cease to exist. When the second coming of Christ comes, the people who are left behind will have their time when they are tortured for their beliefs. Then, when God comes back for the last time, the world will cease to exist. Everyone will go to either Heaven or Hell. Then there will be no need for the universe, so everything in it will be destroyed.

The only permanent factor in the whole universe, and in the whole of Creation ( for that matter ) would be the Creator's love for it.

I don't think anything is really.
You could say death, but of course, that is widely debated considering many believe in an afterlife or reincarnation or some form of life after death.
I think all things fade away eventually.
