None whatsoever!
Fired as in laid-off means you potentially qualify for severance pay and possibly other benefits that you wouldn't be entitled to if you leave of your own volition, so to "quit first" may not be in your best interest
Fired as in summarily dismissed (such as for gross misconduct) however, superceeds any offer to quit and saying "I quit!" is about as pointless as fitting wheels to a tomato. Your employment record will say "dismissed" not "resigned" ..
In both cases, the temptation to say the words may be to much for some of us!

You would most likely lose your eligibility for unemployment by quitting rather than being fired. But if you're being fired for misconduct, you probably wouldn't get UC anyway so it wouldn't matter.

If you're being dismissed with cause, quitting before being fired will prevent your employer from putting a blot on your employment record, but you will still get a bad reference when you apply for work and a prospective employer contacts your old boss.

There is no point except proving they are right about an attitude problem and you can't collect unemployment if you quit.

It's actually stupid, because it's much harder to receive unemployment if you quit your job.
