Stupid is kind of a harsh word....misled is better...there is no love at first sight,,,,lust maybe, but love comes from getting to know someone....

No, because I find the concept of it possible.

People say that love at first sight is actually lust at first sight. But why isn't love at first sight possible? Just because you don't know the person? People who say that you need to know the person well in order to be able to fall in love overlook certain elements, like the fact that knowing the person cannot stop you from falling for them. If love is truly blind, then you don't need to know the person because whether the person will have the qualities you want or not, you'll still fall for them.

If you say you need to know the person in order to be able to fall for them is like saying that you can TELL yourself to fall in love, and that love is something produced on command. It's like saying that falling for someone happens as a consequence of the information and knowledge of them that you gathered.

Second, it's very possible that when you say you're falling in love at first sight, you're actually saying that you have an instinctive reaction to that person;s presence. That specific person activates your instinct. So I don't find it impossible. Isn't love about instincts, too after all?

Even if the concept of falling in love at first sight is proven impossible, I wouldn't call the people who believe in them stupid. I would only call them niave. Because believing in such a concept doesn't interfere with your mental capacity, it proves that you have certain romantic tendencies and certain nuances of personality, but it most certainly doesn't prove you have a low IQ level.

The persons who label people who believe in love at first sight stupid without considering the full matter are worthy of being called shallow.

No

True love is learnt through years of companionship , but without the initial spark it can never be .

So when we meet someone to whom we are attracted love at first sight gives us the principal to build upon .

It will , if it is correctly assumed see us through the process of evolution from two single people to a couple united .

Our initial attraction is based upon what and who a person appears to be ,

None of us are who we appear to be .

Years build trust and trust allows another to bridge our defences .

Only when both people can be seen by each other , entirely without defences , and both can accept the others shortcomings without complaint can true love ever be .

No! Why should they be? OK some of them might only be feeling lust but why shouldnt someone fall in love at first sight? I know a couple who fell in love at primary school and they have now been married for over 10 years, my Uncle moved next door to my mum and her family, fell in love with my Aunt the minute he saw her, they eventually married had a child and were together until she died, he died only a few months later and everyone reckons it was of a broken heart!!!

Not necessarily. I believe that sometimes God does put two people together when they least expect it (and sometimes they even have completely opposite personality traits), and you just KNOW right away that's the one you'll spend the rest of your life with. That's the way it happened for me & my husband...and we celebrated our 25th anniversary in April of this year. It happens, and we're living proof.

Real love is a CHOICE, not a feeling. It is completely possible to love somebody you don't know...and getting to know them is part of the joy of the emotional aspect of love!
