she likes the look of them but we need to know they are reliable as she will be going to work and back

STEER CLEAR! far far better to buy Yamaha, Piaggio etc where you can be certain of spares and service items, some of these cheap imports are notoriously unreliable and in some cases downright dangerous.

For reliability's sake and build quality...parts availability etc stick with the big four Japanese names. Honda,Suzuki, Yamaha...Kawasaki used to make a geared 50cc but no longer sell it.

The Chinese, Taiwanese and Korean bikes are nowhere near as reliable as their Japanese and European counterparts, I'm afraid.

Boatian, Kymco, Jailing, etc, are cheap bikes - corners have to be cut somewhere...

having a shop that can fix problems are of importance, never seen a boation shop around .
