No. It will not effect the baby at this point. The placenta is not functional until about 8-10 weeks from your LMP. Until then the embryo is self sufficient on the yolk sac.

You're probably barely 14 days from conception, or 4 weeks pregnant (doctors count from your last period.) Its normal for the test to have been negative and now suddenly positive.

Baby's fine, just start acting like you're pregnant and avoid the booze :)

I think you're fine. Don't let other people scare you saying you're baby is not okay. Think of all the people who drank before they found out they were pregnant.... those babies are fine. Also think of all those other countries where the women drink wine with their meals every day and they deliver healthy babies. You would have to drink quite a lot. Just let your midwife know of that one time and I'm sure she'll tell you the same thing. Congrats

Not really. It is too early but I wouldnt do it again. I got drunk when I was first pregnant without realising that I was expecting. They say that continuous drinking throghout pregnancy is bad but the one off so early on shouldnt matter. My sister was consistently drinking for the 1st half of her pregnancy, cause she didnt know and she gave birth to a healthy baby boy on monday.Wouldnt recomend doing it that way though. The most important thing is not to stress about it cause wats done is done and it wasnt intentional. Congrats hope everything goes well.

I would ultimately talk to your doctor about it, but I also had a negative test, had a few drinks that same night and 2 nights later had a positive test...I felt awful...but after talking with my OB, he reassured me that this is very common and most women dont even know their pregnant for a couple weeks longer, so my baby will be just fine! (But you must cut out the drinking now until you deliver)

good luck and congrats!!!

I also had the same worries when I found out I was pregnant. I got smashed drunk before I found our I was pregnant and I have normal and healthy twins. Just quit drinking now that you know and quit smoking if you smoke. Good luck!!

Babies are pretty resilient. Many many many Moms have tied on on before knowing they are pregnant. Heck, I celebrated New Years Eve and my perfect son is almost 17 and labeled 'gifted' in school. (To lazy to get the grades, but smart as he can be). So I really don't think you need to worry. Just do everything you can to be careful now that you know and everything will be fine. It is not really one episode that is so dangerous, it is repeated episodes. I am sure your baby will be perfect. Congratulations .

I did almost the same thing. But I had no idea it was even around my period. Well anyways I got drunk and found out about 2 days later I was prego! But there was no problems. once I was going to the doc. I told him every thing!

You will never know whether it did or not. And there's not much you can do about it now. Just stop drinking, as I'm sure you have, and do your very best from here on out to create a safe and nurturing environment for your little one.
Talk to the doctor about it to help ease your mind.

Don't panic, so many babies are conceived during a "night out"..just take care of your self now, and see a midwife or ob-gyn asap to start prenatal care...
If you were not trying to conceive..why the pregnancy tests and no birth control...maybe secretly wishing?? Congratulations MOM!

I doubt it. I drank before I found out I was pregnant. I even took some pain pills before I knew and my baby came out fine. A healthy little 6lb. 11oz baby boy who was even 11 days late.
