Because that is the only way they can think to get an answer. It would be easier to say it happened to you than to try to come up with the answer of your question that didn't even happen to you.

Does that make sense??

I guess in my opinion, I think that way because I feel that if someone is concerned enough to ask a question it is because it effects them or their life somehow. I don't ask questions that don't pertain to my circumstances. For example, I wouldn't ask questions about cows because I don't own a cow...it has no relevance in my life. I do however, own dogs, so I might ask a question about dogs because it's something I need to know or something I'm curious about.

I think its the other way around. I believe most people who ask questions concerning an un-named third party are really talking about themselves.

Have you read the questions on here? People with relationship problems, co-worker problems, boyfriend/girlfriend problems, they are affecting their life.

Maybe because it's easier to respond to "someone", like "well you could always ...", rather than say "well, the person who's affected could always ..."

We're naturally lazy!
