I have a 2 axle trailer with elec brakes. 7 pin plug.

Brakes came on when the RH indicator flashed.

Cut brake drum wires, so trailer can be towed.

But, I would like brakes to work. All lights on vehicle & trailer work.

Isn't it a case of connecting trailer brake wires to brake wire & brake light wire in socket?

Yes, but you have to make sure the wires are connected properly, and make sure you have a controll box under the dash otherwise when you hit the brakes the trailer brakes will lock up.
Best take it to a trailer specialist and let them take a look.

RH turn connection--green wire-- is right next to the trailer brake connection---blue wire---on the plug, maybe you have a wire touching in the plug or the terminals in the plug are out of place and touching. Have a trailer shop look at it.
