Error code 80072efd usually occurs when there is a problem with the .NET Messenger service. one or more of the servers providing it might be down or having problems, with as result that you can no longer sign in. This normally won't take longer then a few minutes/hours.

Strange.

If your PC used to be faster, or is acting strangely, it's probably infected with malware. Use the link below to learn more about "malware".

Then, you need to install: ONE Anti-virus (delete others, I use AVG free), ONE Firewall (Zone Alarm), and these 5 Anti-spyware tools: Windows Defender, Spybot, Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster and cCleaner.
I use all regularly. Google for them, install them and learn how to use them (HINT: Use the Help TAB).

TIP: The apps above can only clean up so much. As a last resort, back up all personal data from your old PC (copy to CD / DVD / external hard drive) and do a Windows "Clean Install" (for instructions go to: (www.theeldergeek.com).

Note: You must use your Recovery disks, if included with your PC, not a store-bought XP, to avoid driver problems. The Recovery disks may be ON the hard drive, so Read The Friendly Manual.
