Anyone who has ever been to jail will tell you that when you are on meds, the nurse in the jail will administer them. And as far as mental status, its hard for anyone who is incarcerated to be anything but in mental anguish. Its not a fun place. Its amazing that those who have money can buy themselves out of just about any situation. I think the sheriff who released her for that one day should be reprimanded for going against court orders, and I think Paris Hilton needs to finish out her sentence, if for no other reason than to teach her that daddys money is no substitute for breaking the law.

Thank you Inferno for clearing that up for me. Here in PA, only the probation officer who rearrested you for breaking probation is permitted to have an inmate released. Most times, the inmate must serve the original time sentenced regardless.

We all know that there are different standards for celebrities. I think we're giving her too much attention, considering that her only talent is waiting for her parents to die.
Lets put the atoricities of Darfur on the front page instead

Under California law Paris Hilton had to be released.
Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days in jail and under California law she was eligible for credit toward good behavior, which cuts her jail sentence in half - Making her only having to serve a little over 22 days.
The reason the state instituted "credit for good behavior" is due to jail overcrowding.

You can blame the Cali. prison system for being overcrowded, you can blame the judge who gave it out, you can blame the sheriff for letting her out early, you can blame her parents or her friends.... but the only person to blame here is Paris. Those "jailhouse confessions" were ridiculous, but hey, I'd be mental if I was yanked in and out of jail, surrounding by the media and the whole world to watch.
But Paris has repeatedly broken the law, repeatedly lied and said she'll not do it again... She may have said she's changed for the better. Fine, then. Good for her. Everyone deserves a second chance, but then again... I wouldn't hold my breath. It's sad but I can see her getting another DUI or something to as of that effect.

yes, she should have served her full sentence instead of being released 10 days early for "good behavior". It's such a sham. As far as the sheriff who let her out for that one day, I think he lost his job, but Paris probably paid him enough money where he never has to work again. sad state of affairs. I hate her.

she didn't get released early. They have been saying from the beginning that she would serve 23 days. It is pretty standard for both famous and unfamous people to be let out for good behavior.

Since the beginning of time, money has always talked. If you have it you have a voice, if you don't you are mute. Do not upset yourself over the vacuous Ms Hilton. Put your energies into something more positive and do not give this oxygen thief one more minute of air time in your head. She is not worth it!

She definitely shouldn't have been let out early..
I doubt if any 'normal' person was put into jail for drink driving they would have been let out early for 'good behavior' maybe a day or two early, but not her sentence halved ..x

Du'h ya!
that was just stupid. Just because she is a "CELEBRITY" does not mean you could buy people off your money and ask them to let go of the prison. She should have thought of that before she was drinking and driving without her lisecnce(if thats how you spell it). Thanks for bringing this topic up.

It angers me that this "news story" is more important than anything else going on in the world right now, especially the plight of those in Darfur.

Yea, it does but its mainly because she has tons of money. I think she should serve the full sentence anyone else would have to.
