For the same reason they often do so in print. There's no nice way to say this: They can't spell. That's really all there is to it. They think the word "lose" is spelled "loose."

years ago loose was the correct spelling of the word, then they shortened it to lose, anybody over 30 would know that.

they never learned to spell it correctly or if you think about it the two o's at times tricks the mind into believe it would make the sound the one o makes in lose. tons of time i put down loose to mean lose then while i'm re-reading i have to change it.

They're the same ones that use there instead of their, dose instead of does, where instead of wear, close instead of clothes, etc. They don't know any better.
