A couple moved in 2 doors from me and they are the friendliest people ever. Everyone I've ever met from England is really friendly.

There's lots of friendly people here, but you could say the same about most other countries. We have our share of miserable and ignorant people, but on the whole, we're friendly and warm.
EDIT....Jim, don't class all us all the same. What exactly are you talking about, and where do you live?

I AM ENGLISH MYSELF and even thou it would be easy for me to sit here and type you saying yes they are , the best and friendliness people on this earth i cannot say that they are , YOU see ever country , i have been to , and as a seaman you can gather i have been to many countries , i think each country is just as good as any other country , in the poorest of the counties , people their are finding it difficult to coup , yet this does not worry them so much , as they say if we have got it then we will share it with you , SO if you are saying that the English are the friendliest on this earth , to me this would be your opinon only , but their are 169 other countries to , and in my travells i think they can match it up with the English.

I too am a Northern Lass - and I think we are a friendly bunch -I think Jim is talking about the troubles in Ireland - if so - there were and are good and bad on both sides - both were equally as bad as one another - I am not excusing our soldiers - but you should state some of the things the Irish did to the English as well so that everyone can get an overall picture of the troubles and let us hope that they never come back.

When you shake hands with any of these English people, count your fingers after.
They are so friendly, they came here 800 years ago, and they are still here. They have butchered our children with plastic baton rounds, taken our fathers from their beds, brutally beaten them, and imprisoned them without trial. I've often taken a good old friendly beating by these Englishmen. On one house raid, one of them was friendly enough to take a crap on my bed. I even had a friendly englishman stick a pen in my ear and burst my eardrum. Their friendly doctor in the interrogation centre gave me 2 pills over a period of 5 days. One of the friendliest even put 2 bullets in my dad's head before I was 1 year old. It must be really nice have such friendly english neighbours.
