I think sport is way too competitive to be an advocate for peace. Take boxing, or some of the under handed tactics in most sports to gain an advantage. Often there are rival fans fighting over a game. A peaceful game of sport would be one where both sides were happy regardless of the outcome. It no longer exists.

It's impossible. What is taught in Sports is Aggression, whether on a kid's team or a Big League team. It is survival of the fittest, adulation of the fittest, wealth for the fittest. Equality is not a part of it. Peace is the farthest thing from the minds of either the players or the audience.

The best thing you could do is teach them to shake hands with the guy they just tackled or to hold no grudge for that busted knee or bloody nose.

You couldn't... there is no peace in sports. Sports is War. A battle between two sides. Although they may not be good and evil they are still separated. People must choose one side or the other and be divided just as the teams themselves.
