It is for rats, after all. I've written a blog on the topic, and I hope you take the time to read it:

Read your blog...real insight hey! I'm with you. I am a med student and often find myself thinking what the hell i am doing each time i have to turn down the things life are really about in order to know my work just a little better so that i could once again get great results.... think that costs me a lot! What would i have to show to the world at the end of my studies except for my degree? Will i be a real human? That scares me!

I try to keep myself away from this so-called rat race every day. The only thing that really matters is loving people to the best of your ability whether it be letting those close to you know how you feel and to help those (even strangers) who need a hand or hug or even just a smile.

Nice blog. It's good to know that there's folks like you still walking around. :)

The problem with a Rat Race is that whoever wins is still a rat.
