My computer is incredibly low on disk space, I don't really know why, I hardly have anything on it. I just think it's a crap cpmputer.

But anyway, how can I get some more, is there something I can buy or do etc?

thanks

Of course you can delete cookies and clean up the disk generally but these days if you store pics, music, videos etc you can quickly fill up an old disk. Easy solution to add a new external drive if you are needing more storage. Many will just plug into USB socket. I use a conceptronic external caddy with 120 Gb portable hard disk as a real cheap option.

Backup, buy a bigger disk, re-install your operating system, re-install your programs, then restore your backups. That's probably better.

If you are infected with a virus make sure you have an updated virus scanner. Check for that.

But otherwise, you can uninstall programs you don't use, delete your browser's cache files, and defragment your disk drive.

Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools and select disk defragmenter then disk cleanup.

If your hard drive is more than 75% full, that's why. Remove all unnecessary files, run all disk cleanup utilities, back up all music and video to CD/DVD and delete, etc.

For more info, Google search for: low disk space

Take it in to a computer store. They can sell you some chips of disk space. They'll check your computer and see if it can handle having new disk space added to it. If it can't, they'll probably advise you to buy a new one (from them!).

You can always buy an external hard drive that plugs into your USB port.
