I tried plunging the sink and also put a store brand drano product down my sink and it still plugged up. I think it has lots of hair that is clogging it up. Do you have any suggestions on getting rid of hair in the pipes and what I should do? Anything will be helpful?

Remove the P trap and check for things that may be blocking, IE: hair pins, q tips shaver blade covers etc. Clean them out, pour water down the open drain below the sink. If it runs free, replace the P trap. The best method for keeping free running drains is NOT allowing everything possible to enter them.

If you can open it from below ( some pipes are made to open underneath - they have like a cup shape bottom that you turn ) then try opening it, you may find the 'cup' part full of stuff. First put a bucket underneath to catch any water and the garbage that comes out.

First and foremost ( since you have put drano in there) wear gloves and protect your eyes while emptying it. This should have been done first , preferbly, before the Drano.

Also, check the drainage in the floor, again wearing gloves and check that there is no blockage in the pipe there.

Once you have done this try more Drano and it should be okay. If none of this works then the problem will be from blockage in the outdoor drain, you may have to call a plumber in that case.

Open the window and make sure there is lots of ventilation when using Drano or any other similar product and leave the room for a few minutes, and wash the sink well.

There is a device used for clogging lines called a "fish" and it comes in several sizes. Ask the guy at the hardware store for a small one for a sink line. Next size up is for toilets and over that is used by professionals for increasing size of sewer lines.

A fish is easy to use; it's a line with a helical coil at the end that screws its way into the line. When it reaches a clog you will feel it stop moving forward. Just keep turning the line and it will eventually screw through the clog and break it up.

If that doesn't work, and the chemicals don't work, the line will have to be disassembled. Good luck.

1. Reach under the sink and set a bucket under the elbow drain. Loosen the connections and let the solution drain in the bucket. (wear rubber gloves and be careful since you used a drain cleaner.) Remove the connection and dump the contents into the bucket.. Hopefully the clog is in that elbow.

If not it may need a snake for further down the pipe.

Put it back together firmly afterward to avoid leaks.

If you cannot fix it you may have to call a plumber.

The best way to unplug the sink if to take the "P" trap off under the sink and remove the clog. If the clog is further down then you may need to run a snake down the pipe.

You clog is most likely hair.

At this point you should call a plumber. When you poured in the Drano you actually used a product called caustic soda a form of acid DO NOT add any other chemical that could cause a deadly gas.
The plumber knows how to protect himself/herself from the acid which can burn your skin. Make sure you tell the plumber that you used the Drano.

If you have the plug in (silver thing) take it out and clean all the hair on that, then take baking soda and vinegar and poor down the drain, that should get rid of the clog.

You need to unscrew the U bend (Or the trap) under the plughole. They are only plastic and are doable by hand.
Have a bowl ready to catch the water held in the bend/trap.

When assembling again, ensure the black rubber O rings are correctly in place.

yes, the same thing happened to me yesterday!

The only thing that worked for me was to unscrew the "U" bit of the pipe and remove the hair!

You will be surprised how much hair there is in there...my husband actually vomited when he saw it..hehe

Make sure you get a big towel to mop up any leaking water and gunk.
