You put the full container of water up higher than the empty one, next you soak the peice of yarn in the full container and then dangle the yarn over the rim and down into the empty container, depending on the amount of water to move it can take up to 1 week to transfere the entire water mass, this method of fluid transference is called Wicking, it can be verry useful if you have a lot of house plants and you intend to go on holiday's for a couple of weeks, just sit the bowl of water up on a stool in your kitchen and put all the plants on the floor around it, run wet yarn from the bowl into each individual pot and all your flowers will get all the water they nead while you are away.

Using siphon is much faster. Immerse a flexible tube into the liquid until the tube is full. Put one end of the tube in the container the liquid is to be transferred to while the other end remains in the original container. As long as the empty container is lower than the top of the liquid level, the liquid will flow through the tube into the empty container.

Using yarn, the liquid might evaporate before the process of osmosis transfers it.

You get a string (not to thick) and put one end in the container of liquid and the other end in the other empty container. It takes a long time but it still transfer liquid
