Place fabric softner sheets under the cushions especially ones that really smell or get J-cloths and soak them with your favourite fabric softner squeeze them out and put them carefully in all corners of the sofa for a few days. Hopefully that will help.

You probably will not be able to. Ordinary saddle soap is good for cleaning leather. Murphy's Oil Soap and water can be used without harming the leather.
If you have homeowners' insurance you may have a claim to replace the sofa.
Leather is porous. Everywhere two pieces of leather are sown together, there are holes to collect dirt and odor.
